Mapping the Internal Landscape

All traditional cultures consider humans to be mirrors of Nature.  This microcosmic-macrocosmic relationship has both outward and inward dimensions.  In Chinese Medicine, the outer dimension is reflected in acupuncture point names, many of which evoke natural forms–rivers and mountains, sun, and stars.  The inner dimension of this mirror is described in Daoist and alchemical writings, most famously the Neijing Du/Chart of the Inner Channel. This class will explore the universal aspects of the inner landscape of the body as a microcosm.  Focusing on  foundational structures–the pelvis, the chest, the head–participants will gain a concrete experience of the energies that animate these regions.  Embodied discernment of the inner landscape facilitates self-discovery and clarifies the path of healing.

Body-Awareness as a Path to Healing: The Practical Wisdom of Chinese Medicine

a free webinar | Sunday, August 20 | 10:00 am EDT
hosted by TCM World

Join Evan Rabinowitz as he teaches a method of tuning in to the inner landscape of the body through the simultaneous acts of listening and conscious awareness. He will discuss how in the fundamental regions of our body (the chest, the head, the pelvis) we experience different aspects of ourselves.

These body regions can be vehicles for awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and memories. Using this embodied awareness we can more easily discern the difference between the places in us that are impediments to peace and clarity, the places that need healing, and the places that give us access to healing.
